Spray Foam Insulation (SPF) is considered one of the most versatile forms of insulation available. Its continuous membrane, which can adhere to virtually any building or structure, including awkward shapes such as curves and voids, contains the most efficient insulating properties used in modern industry.
It can weatherproof and stabilise structures, thereby extending the life of many old buildings. Mg Insulation can be used on many building types, from loft insulations to outdoor sheds, garages and farm buildings.
When sprayed at rafter level, it seals the home creating an air-tight warm roof and loft structure which contributes to keeping your home warm in winter, and cool in summer whilst lowering heating and cooling costs and thereby saving on energy costs, which can’t be achieved with traditional insulation!
Spray foam loft insulation is the most practical & cost-effective way to make your home more energy-efficient and reduce your energy costs significantly.
Applied in liquid sprayed form, the material expands to the required thickness. It then sets in a rigid foam state, providing a continuous, seamless thermal barrier, eliminating draughts and condensation problems, saving energy and costs. It is the most efficient insulation per thickness, giving unrivalled insulating benefits and reducing U-values.
We use open cell insulation for interior insulation in places such as lofts which is breathable and we use closed cell insulation for the interior beams on sheds and structures.
The lighter density of open cell foam will perform much better than closed cell when it comes to sound dampening as well. The thicker, softer material of open cells will reduce sound waves much more efficiently than that of the tight, dense closed cell foam.
We use a breathable vent card which is placed in between your attic or loft rafters 50mm from the roofing felt, to allow water vapour to escape the structure. This is to prevent the buildup of harmful damp and mould to accumulate in the attic or loft.
Water vapour is built up in any structure where humans breathe, sweat, shower or cook.
If the attic will be used later or is currently being used, we will shave down the spray foam to an even finish with the adjacent rafters which will make it easy to apply drywalling at a later stage.
Foam Spray Insulation provides extremely high-performance insulation that meets all current building regulations at a competitive price. All the materials we use are manufactured by industry leaders ensuring a high-quality installation every time.
